USISPF Priorities for 2023

2023 will be a year of powerful reinforcement for the India-US relationship.

2023 began with the inaugural meeting of the U.S.-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) led by India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and the U.S. NSA Jake Sullivan in January. The India-U.S. Commercial Dialogue was relaunched by co-chairs India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, and U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo.

Attention was domestically focused in 2022 due to consequential elections in both countries – Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Punjab state elections in India and the midterm elections in the U.S.

In 2023 India assumed the G20 presidency and will host the 2023 G20 Summit in New Delhi. India and the U.S. will continue to work together this year through the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) and other engagements.

Our job as champions of this bilateral partnership is straightforward: provide robust engagements and deeper understanding between the two countries across all aspects of the U.S.-India partnership.
