Akal Brar is the Manager, Policy Advocacy and State Engagement at USISPF. In this capacity, he assists member companies from different sectors with their interests in different states across India.
Before USISPF, he practiced law in the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and other Legal Forums and worked on matters pertaining to both Civil and Criminal Law. He also interned in the office of Congressman Pete Sessions who serves as the Chairman of the Rules Committee. He assisted in administrative affairs and researched on issues pertaining to US-India relations in the Congressman’s office before becoming a Fellow with the US India Business Council. While with USIBC, his focus was on Digital Economy and Legislative Affairs.
He completed his master’s in Law Degree from UC Berkeley School of Law and B.A., L.L.B degree from National Law University Delhi.
