Monte Dobson leads ExxonMobil business activities in India, where the company is building on a long heritage in chemicals and lubricants and a pioneering role in establishing the LNG market in India. More recently, ExxonMobil is also leveraging the abundant talent of India to build a rapidly-growing business that is providing technical and business services across our global business.

He is a passionate student of and innovator in the global energy industry. Monte has spent the last decade in the shale business, rising to Senior Vice President of ExxonMobil-affiliate XTO Energy. He led a talented team there to build a world-class unconventional oil portfolio in over $10 billion of transactions. He subsequently formed and led a technology team which is developing innovative solutions to make unconventional oil and gas cleaner and more a fjord able. Earlier leadership assignments included subsurface teams in Angola and the MS.

He is an avid traveler and runner, having completed over 15 marathons including two Boston Marathons. He joined ExxonMobil in 1994 as a researcher in the ExxonMobil Production Research Company, and has led business and technical teams focused on Upstream assets from across the globe. He has a B.A. in Physics from Centenary College, B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Mrbana- Champaign.
