Nina Anand is the Director of Communications & Marketing for USISPF, where Nina leads strategic messaging efforts to drive the organization’s agenda to strengthen the US–India bilateral relationship. Nina has led executive communications in both the public and private sectors.
Prior to first joining USISPF in 2017, Nina was a spokesperson for the USDA’s Office of Communications and its Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), where Nina served as a media expert on international and domestic food safety issues and crisis communications. While at FSIS, Nina prepared agency leadership for congressional hearings and staffed them during international delegations. Before working at USDA, Nina was the speechwriter for Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD). Nina was also one of five women selected nationally to serve as a Women’s Congressional Policy Institute Congressional Fellow in Congress woman Carolyn Maloney’s (NY-12) office.
Nina completed her undergraduate degree at Davidson College and focused on South Asian studies and comparative religion. Nina received her master’s degree from Georgetown University in Conflict Resolution, where Nina concentrated on the South Asian region and gender issues.
