IRDAI has introduced the master circular on IRDAI (Registration, Capital Structure, Transfer of Shares and Amalgamation of Insurers) Regulations, 2024. This is issued in accordance with the powers within the Authority by relevant sections of the Insurance Act, 1938 and the IRDA Act, 1999, along with Regulation 59 and 60 of the Registration Regulations, 2024. As stated it aims to specify various forms mentioned in the Registration Regulations, 2024 and offer clarifications on its provisions. This Circular applies to all insurers and applicants seeking registration for insurance business, excluding Foreign Reinsurer’s Branches. It takes effect immediately.
