Akshobh Giridharadas works on strategic communications at USISPF, leading USISPF’s podcast and webinar dialogues.
In addition to penning op-eds and long-form articles, Akshobh curates and moderates USISPF’s Indo-Pacific Security Dialogues, a monthly webinar series featuring an eclectic mix of strategic experts discussing the issues pertaining to the Indo-Pacific.
Akshobh is also the host of The Power of She, a podcast that celebrates the voices of inspiring women in leadership roles and trailblazers in their industry, and USISPF Conversations, a one-on-one style interview podcast.
He is also a Visiting Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), the New Delhi branch, and was previously a Director at BowerGroupAsia (BGA) and a communications consultant with the World Bank, both in Washington, DC.
A journalist by profession, Akshobh was based in Singapore for seven years, four of which were as a reporter and producer with MediaCorp’s Channel NewsAsia, covering foreign policy and international business news. He reported extensively on investor sentiment, tech trends, Fortune 500 companies, and startups, interviewing leading Singaporean policymakers and visiting foreign dignitaries and business tycoons.
Akshobh started his career in Singapore with ESPN STAR Sports, where he worked as a sports producer, which was fructified after he finished in the quarter-finals of a pan-India talent hunt (Dream Job) for the next sports broadcasting face of ESPN STAR Sports.
Akshobh is a frequent contributor and columnist to various publications such as The Diplomat, NDTV, The Hindu, The National Interest, Hindustan Times, Deccan Herald, the Observer Research Foundation, FirstPost, MoneyControl, The Quint, and ThePrint.
He is a two-time TEDx speaker, the co-host of a Podcast series titled The Global Detail Podcast (GDP), and moderated several panels at major tech conferences in Singapore.
Akshobh counts writing “We The People”, USISPF’s monumental coffee table book celebrating U.S.-India relations at 75 years as one of his proudest moments during his time at USISPF.
