USISPF, with the support of KPMG, has put together a report titled “Forging a Resilient Future: India’s Opportunities to Expand Pharma Investments, Trade and Global Collaborations”. India remains a key player in the pharma industry that has witnessed exponential growth with an expected market size of $$1.8 trillion by 2027. The Indian ecosystem dominates the manufacturing with over 60% of the total vaccine supply and 20% volume of global pharmaceutical production, and is now the largest supplier of generics and vaccines globally. Through this report, the question we try to ask, and answer is ‘why is India not better integrated in the global value chain despite its manufacturing capability of generics?’ To give a nuanced understanding of the key bottlenecks, the team interviewed over 20 supply chain industry leaders who provided valuable feedback on policy and regulatory improvements to unlock India’s potential.

The summit featured participation from leading policymakers, global corporations, and multilateral institutions. Distinguished speakers included Shri Bharat Lal, Secretary General and CEO, National Human Rights Commission of India; Mr. Amitabh Kant, former G20 Sherpa of India and former CEO of NITI Aayog; Mr. Stefan Priesner, United Nations Resident Coordinator in India, and Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and former Foreign Secretary and former Ambassador of India to the United States. The day-long summit focused on building a globally competitive and sustainable tourism ecosystem. Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Honorable Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Government of India, formally unveiled the USISPF report “State of Tourism in India 2026,” and presented the first copy to the Vice President. The report outlines a forward-looking roadmap for sustainable growth, digital transformation, investment expansion, and global positioning of India’s tourism sector. A first of kind dedicated space business forum brought together an esoteric gathering of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), diplomats from various U.S. missions in the country, policymakers across Government of India, space entrepreneurs, media, students and even India’s acclaimed astronauts Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair.

USISPF in partnership with Consul General DC Manjunath and ExxonMobil hosted a U.S.–India Energy Roundtable in Houston, bringing together senior industry leaders for a candid discussion on the evolving energy landscape in both countries. The conversation focused on LNG and natural gas infrastructure, technology partnerships, digital transformation, and policy frameworks to advance deeper bilateral energy collaboration.
USISPF led a delegation of Foreign Asset Reconstruction Companies to meet Shri Shirish Chandra Murmu, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India. The members appreciated RBI’s continued commitment to developing a resilient and efficient framework for managing distressed assets and enhancing the capacity of Asset Reconstruction Companies (ARCs). The dialogue focused on regulatory priorities and reform measures to further strengthen the Asset Reconstruction Companies ecosystem and support financial sector stability and growth.

The dialogue featured senior leaders including Lt. General Harsh Chhibber, AVSM, VSM, Ph.D, Director General Information Systems, Ministry of Defence;
Vinayak Godse, CEO, Data Security Council of India ; Arun Shetty, Chief Technical Officer and Sr Director, Solutions Engineering, Cisco; Nitin Gokhale, Founder, Bharat Shakti, along with leading domain experts and industry stakeholders.
The discussion examined AI’s transformative role across defence domains, while identifying key challenges related to infrastructure constraints, data gaps, and the need for trusted AI systems supported by robust safety benchmarks.
Speakers highlighted applications spanning maritime domain awareness, autonomous systems, predictive maintenance, and cyber defence. The dialogue also addressed the balance between human oversight and AI autonomy, ethical considerations surrounding lethal autonomous systems, data sovereignty, and supply-chain resilience.
Participants emphasized the importance of civil-military collaboration, rigorous testing and validation frameworks, and responsible AI adoption to strengthen defence preparedness in an evolving strategic environment.
On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, USISPF convened a series of high-level engagements with senior government leaders, USISPF member companies and global industry stakeholders.
USISPF hosted closed-door discussions with the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, engaging senior leaders from member companies on state-level reform agendas, investment opportunities, and pathways for collaboration across advanced manufacturing, digital infrastructure, energy, connectivity, and emerging growth sectors. Both leaders outlined their visions for attracting investments, emphasizing policy stability, reform driven governance, and building globally competitive investment ecosystems.
In collaboration with the World Woman Foundation, USISPF convened a Power of Dialogue session on advancing the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), positioning it as a next-generation framework to enhance supply-chain resilience and drive inclusive global trade.
Additionally, we hosted a fireside conversation on India’s Equality Moonshot with Shri Nara Lokesh, Cabinet Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh, who outlined the state’s development model with a focus on education and skilling, digital public infrastructure, public–private partnerships, and the role of women and youth in economic transformation.
