Christopher Calio is chief operating officer of Raytheon Technologies Corporation. He oversees the company’s four business units, as well as its functions for technology, engineering, enterprise services, digital, operations, quality, supply chain, and environmental, health and safety.

He brings a broad range of experience in business management, strategy and legal matters. Most recently He was president of Pratt & Whitney, where He led more than 36,000 employees in a business that designs, manufactures and services aircraft engines and auxiliary power units. He also served as president of Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines business, where He led development, program management, sales, customer support and aftermarket services of the company’s portfolio of large commercial engines, including the Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engine family.

He joined the former United Technologies Company in 2005 as an assistant counsel and served in multiple leadership positions at that company: He served as chief of staff for the United Technologies chairman and CEO; led the legal department of Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines business during the development and launch of the Airbus A320neo program, and played a key role in the company’s acquisition of Rolls-Royce’s share in the International Aero Engines collaboration. He also served as vice president and general counsel for UTC Aerospace Systems, now Collins Aerospace.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Trinity College and two degrees — an MBA and a law degree — from the University of Connecticut.
